The stupidist thing I Ever Heard of!
I never saw anything about this in the news, but it seems that Continental Airlines has subcontracted much of their work to companies in Iran! For example, the printers they use to print off tickets at the airline counters. When they are found to be defective, they are changed out with a good one, but the other one has to be sent to Iran. Doesn't this seem to be about the dumbest decision ever?! It seems a lot of Continental work is to or through Iran.

Islam
I am far from any kind of expert, however I can read and I know how to research. I have exerpts from the Quran. Some I found on Islamic websites in english. After reading what I have though. I came up with the idea that there were different acceptance levels of Islam. If I followed the Bible as closely as they say I should, then I would be a very different person. I know Mormons that are very devout, but they drink and play cards and like to party. The Catholics are no different. Some of them follow their rules closely, some do not, but they think themselves good Catholics. I figure the same is for the Islamics. If they followed the Quran as they are expected to, then they would definitely be our enemy.
Iraq
Yeah we needed to get rid of Saddam. But you know what? The entire country of Iraq is not worth the cost of ONE American life. I would have bombed them into oblivion, but I would not have wasted one life of ours. But then it is easy to send someone else off to fight your war. I learned that the hard way many years ago.
Cuba
For many years we have ignored Cuba and gone out of our way to make it hard for the Cuban people. Why is that? Because of Castro? Castro would be displaced by now if we have given them trade and helped thm out. The people there would figure out what the difference is on there own.
Elections
Just a thought, we have been enduring the Bush government for a long time. Elections are coming up soon and he cannot legally run for election again.
So under his war powers, can he and will he somehow manage to retain the presidency?

9-11 They won
When the terrorists hijacked those aircraft and crashed them, they won.
How did they win? Our government instituted laws and changes to laws that infringe upon my rights as an American Citizen. They say they have the power to do so and the courts seem to agree with them. When they started limiting OUR rights, and the government started increasing its' powers, then the terrorists won. They changed it all and I do not think they knew the effect they would have.
Sure, Bush and his friends say it is our own best interests and to protect democracy and 0ur way of life. In doing so, they have changed our way of life and limited democracy.
If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he would be arrested as a terrorist. On the other hand, if Bush were alive back during the revolutionary era, he would be hanged as a traitor.

Bush
What do you think of Bush? I am a Texan, he is not. I think carpetbagger fits him better.
I agree that we needed to get rid of Sadam, but I do not think that Bush did it to insure Democracy or to 'save' the Iraqis.
I believe he thinks he is the savior of democracy and the world should be democratic. I do not believe that will ever be; democracy is not for every country.

Constitutional Duty
Several of my favorite qu0tes. Actually, believing in the Constitution could possibly brand someone as a terrorist. It depends on howq far this "government" of ours is willing to go.
Have you noticed, there are not many good quotes from our time. Have people stopped thinking?
Good intentions will always be pleaded for any assumption of power. The Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.-Daniel Webster
Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar.-not Julius Caesar and not William Shakespeare, but a good fake quote nonetheless
We have no government armed in power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.-- John Adams
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."-- U.S. Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776
